Warren Buffett has a riddle that he likes to pose to investors: 'If you call a dog's tail a leg, then how many legs does it have?'" The answer is … four … because calling it a leg still doesn't make it one. His point is that we need to be skeptical about investments because bankers and CEOs sometimes present their “earnings” in a way that’s meant to mislead those of us who may not be as financially sophisticated as they are.
